two types of such vehicles––one for use in good weather and one for rainy weather––
and this may spur economic growth. Currently, experiments are underway to fly
electric aircraft from a suburb of London to a suburb in Paris, and these planes are
scheduled to become commercially available in due time. Currently, traveling
between provincial cities is troublesome. These convenient electric aircraft could
resolve that problem and make living in rural areas far more convenient (Fig. 14).
The freedom of information and movement has reduced disparities between
regions substantially. However, although access to information has become easier,
traveling on airplanes, Shinkansen bullet trains, and the like is still expensive. If the
costs are reduced to 1/10 or even 1/3, people should be able to feel a greater sense
of freedom. As seen from the entry of LCCs (low-cost carriers) which have made
