to AE application transducers. ISO 12714 is similar to ASTM E1781. It specifies
a method for the secondary calibration of AE sensors as receivers of elastic waves
at the surface of a solid medium. This standard is applicable to laboratory tertiary
standard sensors and AE application sensors. There are 3 AE sensor test standards
in China. Among them, GB/T 19800 and GB/T 19801 have transformed from ISO
12713 and ISO 12714 respectively. JJF 1337 refers to GB/T 19801, which specifies
the calibration conditions and methods of AE sensors that receive surface waves and
longitudinal waves of the solid medium, and is suitable for secondary calibration of
AE sensors [10–20].
4.4.2 Comparison and Analysis
Comparing the AE sensor standards in different countries, it is found that the number
of ASTM standards is the largest, but most of them test the consistency of amplitude
response. Only the primary calibration and secondary calibration standards provide
the test methods for the frequency response of AE sensors. These two standards are
also the core basis for the AE sensor calibration in the world.
The primary calibration specifies a method for the absolute calibration of AE
sensors. A glass capillary tubing with an outside diameter of 0.2 mm is broke by
