a multi-resonant SUT), 7.9 “Examples of displacement sensitivity spectra”, “7.10
Reproducibility of sensitivity spectra”.
Chapter 8 “Determination of transmitting sensitivity spectra” contains, among
others, the subchapters “8.2 Measuring the stimulation signal by the LVM’s reference input”, “8.3 Increasing the sampling rate of LVM by interpolation”, “8.4 Averaging the particle velocity measured by LVM setup”, “8.5 Windowing of the averaged velocity signals”, “8.6 Pre-trigger considerations”, “8.7 Relevant spectra for
transmitting sensitivity determination”.
Chapter 9 deals with “Criteria for sorting out unsuitable transmitter units”.
Chapter 10 deals with “Reports”.
Informal “Annex B” shows how the sensitivity spectra obtained from F2F setup
can be adapted to the acoustic impedance of the test object material.
3.4 Basics of the Proposed Face to Face Setup
Figure 3.1 shows the block diagram for the face-to-face (F2F) setup with text
describing the blocks.
The sensor’s receiving sensitivity spectrum Rv shall be expressed in absolute
units of volts of sensor output per millimeter per second particle velocity input.
The sensor output spectrum is obtained by the FFT of the measured sensor output
US. The particle velocity input spectrum is obtained by multiplying the transmitting
sensitivity spectrum of the transmitter by the spectrum of the measured transmitter
