resin specimen 90° (B)
The universal testing machine is used for the tensile test. The equipment model
is bbsl-xs-30t, and the maximum tensile load of the equipment is 30 kN. The tensile
rate in the test is less than 0.4 mm/min, as shown in Fig. 20.8.
Sensitivity tests are conducted after device connection and system setup, and
broken lead test was carried out at the edge of the sensors with a 0.3–2H pencil. The
response amplitude of each sensor is maintained above 99.0 dB. Then the attenuation
was measured at a distance of 100 mm from the sensor. The attenuation of specimen
A was 23 dB, that of specimen B was 18 dB, and that of specimen C was 14 dB.
20.3 Result
In the test, A tensile load was applied to the specimen slowly until the specimen
broke. Specimen A broke at 3.0 kN and specimen B at 1.7 kN. During the tensile
process of specimen C, the maximum load was 24 kN.
The fracture morphology of specimen A and B was brittle fracture. Without plastic
deformation occurred during the specimen tensile process, and the fracture was flat.
For specimen C, during the stretching process, transverse cracking first occurred,
then the fiber continues to break under the tensile load until the fiber broke down
(Fig. 20.9).
