4.3 Scattering Chaos in a Magnetic Dipole
As we have seen in the previous section, there is a direct relation between the
homoclinic orbits in a chaotic reaction region and the fractal structure of the delay
time. Jung and Scholz (1988) have analyzed this relationship between chaotic
structure and delay times for the case of scattering off of a magnetic dipole. We
describe some of their results here.
