Michael Gilek is professor in environmental science at Södertörn University and has
extensive research experience in chemical pollution and other ecological risks in the
aquatic environment, as well as in associated science-policy interactions. In his current research, MG leads international interdisciplinary studies analysing environmental governance and marine spatial planning in the Baltic Sea.

Mikael Karlsson is a PhD in environmental and energy systems. His research
focuses on environmental governance, including risk management, science-policy
studies, chemicals legislation, climate policy and marine governance. Dr. Karlsson
is also president of the European Environmental Bureau.

Sebastian Linke is assistant professor in theory of science at the University of
