Chapter 13
Epilogue
Abstract In this book, we have looked at the relationship between deep learning and physics in detail. We authors (Akinori Tanaka, Akio Tomiya, and Koji
Hashimoto) are also co-authors of research papers in this interdisciplinary field.
Collaborative research is something that is only fun if people who share the same
ambition but have different backgrounds gather. We guess that readers have started
reading this book with various motivations, but in fact, all three of us have different
ideas about the “deep learning and physics.” Here, the three authors express their
feelings, rather than adopting the concluding style of ordinary textbooks, so that
they can be a source of your debate in this new field in the future.

(Akio Tomiya)
From 2003 to 2005, when I was a junior high school student, the world was in
the midst of the second winter of AI. As a computer boy, I was making computer
games, programs—a tic-tac-toe program beating humans, and chatbots. 1 Speaking
1 Chatbots are programs which react automatically to specific keywords.
