Professor Maris Klavins His major research fields include climate change, sustainable development, and innovation in the development of environmentally friendly processes and technologies. M. Klavins is currently a supervisor of five Ph.D. students, has supervised a total of 11
doctoral theses, is an author of numerous scientific articles (158 SCOPUS articles, h = 18).
In the last few years, M. Klavins has been involved in the climate policy legislation development and adaptation in Latvia. M. Klavins has been a leader of several projects related to
climate change aspects, for example, of the “Climate Change and Waters” National Research
Programme (http://kalme.daba.lv/en/), the INTERREG project aimed at the development of adaptation strategies to climate change (https://www.eucc-d.de/past-projects/articles/climate-changeimpacts-costs-and-adaptation-in-the-baltic-sea-region-782.html). He has supported development
of study content and study materials on climate change (http://www.zalabriviba.lv/klimats/kli
