As far as water consumption is concerned, it is estimated that the average consumer
has responsible consumption habits. In order to project these consumption habits,
the trend towards a reduction in tap water consumption has been taken into account
based on the studies set out in the theoretical model, see Fig. 7. The results obtained,
reflected in terms of built area, for water consumption in BLC are 68.50 m
3 /m
2 .
4.3 Demolition Stage Definition
When the 100th year of the building’s life is reached and considering that the building
does not meet the conditions of habitability, the project for the demolition of the
building is carried out. The demolition will be carried out in a massive way with
mechanical means. In addition, the management and transport to the treatment plant
of all the CDW generated are contemplated.
5 Results and Discuss
The results are presented by differentiating the resources incorporated in the
consumption of the works (indirect consumption) from consumption during the use
of the building, i.e. water and electricity supplies (direct consumption). All this is
evaluated economically and environmentally, and standardized by its corresponding
floor area (m
2 ). Next, in order to facilitate the comparison of the results with other
similar studies, the total impacts are presented, in addition to the values affected by
the years of duration of the BLC, which, in the case of the present study, is 100. The
data applied for the evaluations of one-off activities refer to values for 2018, while
data extending over long periods of time, such as supply consumption, are obtained
based on the predictions of the future scenarios raised in the model.
5.1 Indirect Consumption Results
Table 9 is presented with a double division of the results. The basic resources for the
execution of each stage are broken down, specifically into materials, machinery and
manpower, as well as the CDWs generated and the hours of machinery and manpower
required to manage them. The resources relating to machinery and manpower are
quantified in the total consumed by each of the phases in h/m
2 . The total EF data are
expressed in global hectares (hag/m
2 ).
