There is no active spring in Dakhla. The nearest one is in backward of Abu Tartur
southern escarpment in Ain Amur, which lies in the geomorphic system of Kharga
depression.
With the expansion of land reclamation projects, recent deep wells have been
drilled (see Fig. 26) while hundreds of natural springs are abandoned (see Fig. 27).
Some karst landforms still active in the area, such as sinkholes in the playa floor
(see Fig. 28). Among paleo springs there is an important landform: spring mound.
