Yerbolat Mukanov holds a doctoral degree in natural
sciences and is a scientist and researcher at Xinjiang
Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, and the head
of the Agro-meteorological Forecasting Division in the
Department of Agrometeorological Monitoring and
Forecasting at RSE Kazhydromet (Nur- Sultan),
Kazakhstan. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from
the Agrarian University of S.  Seifullin, Astana,
Kazakhstan; master’s degree from Nanjing University
Information Science & Technology, Nanjing, China;
and doctoral degree at Xinjiang Institute of Ecology
and Geography, Chinese Academy of China, Urumqi,
China. His research interests are focused on agriculture, climate change, hydrology, soil degradation and
desertification.
Amobichukwu C� Amanambu is a PhD candidate at
the Department of Geography, University of Florida,
USA. Obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees
from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria,
where he studied geography. Amobichukwu is currently studying for another master’s degree in water
and environmental management at Loughborough
University in the United Kingdom. His research focus
is on watershed hydrology, which includes flooding,
erosion, water resources and river processes. He enjoys
applying methodologies from remote sensing and GIS
in many of his research works. Amobichukwu is an
author and co-author of many research articles in highprofile journals. He is an active member of many international organizations including the American
Association of Geographers (AAG), International
Association of Hydrological Society (IAHS) and
American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote
Sensing (ASPRS).
