Desislava Asenova works as an analyst at the Applied Research and
Communications Fund, Bulgaria since 2013. She is part of the ‘Science,
Technology and Innovation Policy Programme’ and has been involved
in international research projects in various areas such as sustainable
innovations, social innovations, public engagement in policymaking,
and bi-regional STI cooperation and policy dialogue in the Black Sea
region. She is currently working on projects related to energy systems
and energy conscious behaviour of households.
Julia Backhaus is a doctoral student at the International Centre for
Integrated assessment and Sustainable development (ICIS) at Maastricht
University. Working on sustainable energy and consumption topics at the
Energy research Centre of the Netherlands and at Maastricht University
over the past ten years, Backhaus has published on subjects ranging from
social innovation and sustainable food practices to energy policies and a
refuelling infrastructure for hydrogen-fuelled cars. Her Ph.D. research
investigates actors’ assumptions about how change towards sustainability will come or can be brought about. She is a founding and still active
member of the Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative
(SCoRAI) Europe.
Laure Dobigny is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of
Sociological Research at the University of Geneva, specialised in the
socio-anthropology of energy. Her research interests centre around the
social construction and social dimension of energy, especially linked to
