digital camera with diffused backlighting system is used to take photographs of the
spray. The pixel resolution of the camera is 4928 × 3264. A zoom lens (Nikon
AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70–300 mm f/4–5.6G) is employed with the camera to capture
good quality pictures of liquid sheet breakup. The measurements of spray cone angle,
liquid sheet breakup length are obtained from the analysis of digital images using
Image J software [5]. Photos of the liquid spray discharging from swirl injectors are
shown in Fig. 4.
