Semi-structured Interview Questions
Government Experts
Thanks for agreeing to participate in this research. You can answer the questions
below as fully or briefly as you wish, and you can ignore any that you’d rather not
answer. I am really interested to hear about your perceptions and experiences of Oil
and Gas Companies’ Social Investments. If you would like to discuss the questions
outlined below via a conference call before the interview takes place, please do not
hesitate to ask. You can email me at cosra@student.otago.ac.nz and set up a day and
time to meet online via Skype or any other free of charge video call software. Again,
you are under no obligation to answer any of the following questions.
1. I would be grateful for the following demographic information:
Your work role/the agency you work for/your ethnicity(ies)/your age/your
gender/how long you have been working with the government in social and/or
O&G matters.
2. Do you believe the O&G industry is accountable for promoting social
investment where they operate? Why or why not?
3. Do you believe O&G companies can play a role in partnering with governmental
and non-governmental institutions in your country to alleviate poverty?
4. Are you aware of any social investment an O&G company developed in your
country?
