Inorganic–organic hybrid materials composed of colloidal semiconductor
nanocrystals or QDs and π-conjugated organic dyes are being increasing considered
for optoelectronics and sensing applications [39–41]. The surface chemistry of the
QDs is a crucial issue here because the dye molecules have to be attached to the QD
