1 Overview of RFID System Anti-Collision Technology
through the gate of the RFID reader antenna in batches, transient electromagnetic
interference is one of the most critical factors affecting the reading performance of
the RFID multi-tag system. The collision of the RFID multi-tag system caused by
it will directly reduce the working efficiency of the system [17–19]. The impact
of transient electromagnetic interference generated by temperature changes in the
application environment, various noises, and object media (such as metal) attached
to the RFID tag on the tag reading rate and the resulting RFID multi-tag collision.
These technical problems have seriously affected the development and application
of RFID technology [20].
In summary, modeling of RFID multi-tag collision mechanism based on transient
electromagnetic waves and RFID anti-collision dynamic detection technology has
become important technical guarantees in the process of RFID technology development and application implementation. Therefore, studying the mechanism of RFID
multi-tag collision caused by transient electromagnetic waves and adopting effective
anti-collision methods and measures are key issues that have important theoretical
value and application prospects and urgently need to be resolved in the promotion
and application of RFID multi-tag systems.
This book has conducted in-depth investigations on relevant key technical issues
in the early stage, and conducted a lot of preliminary exploratory research work
under this background. Through summary and analysis, it is found that the current
mechanism of RFID system collision is caused by external interference and anticollision measures. The main problems in the research are as follows:
(1) At present, the existing research at home and abroad is to carry out theoretical
research on RFID multi-tag collision caused by metal, liquid, electrostatic,
electromagnetic, and other interference forms from different perspectives.
However, a mathematical model and experimental evaluation method that can
more systematically and accurately reflect RFID multi-tag collisions caused
by interference in practical application scenarios have not been established.
(2) The anti-collision research carried out so far mainly focuses on various anticollision algorithms at the communication protocol layer (i. e., software anticollision). But the main idea of these algorithms is to solve the problem of
mutual interference between tags, especially transient electromagnetic waves.
The harm caused by electromagnetic interference cannot be solved. And the
diversity of actual application scenarios makes it impossible to completely
solve the collision problem of the RFID system by only using software
algorithms.
(3) Once a multi-tag collision occurs, there are currently no effective remedial
measures, which greatly reduces the efficiency of automatic identification,
especially the impact on the efficiency of logistics transportation in the highspeed dynamic assembly line environment.
(4) Although there are multi-tag anti-collision research and multi-reader anticollision research, there is no research report on the use of RFID multi-tag-multi
(reader) antennas to form a sensor network for collaborative anti-collision.
