In 2003, Professor Bhunia received a prestigious Purdue Agricultural Research Award;
in 2005, he was selected as University Faculty Scholar; his research team received the “2006
Agriculture Team Award” from Purdue University; he received the R&D Award from IFT (2009);
and the Outstanding Graduate Educator Award from Department of Food Science (2010–2011)
and College of Agriculture (2013) at Purdue University.
