Preface
elementary reactions, changes in the Rh oxidation state, and their relationship with
the C–H bond activation mode are emphasized to demonstrate mechanistic diversity.
The wide range of theoretical advances presented here would provide deeper
mechanistic understandings and offer guidance for optimizing or designing ligands
and reactions on the concepts of Rh-catalyzed C–H functionalization. This summary
of mechanistic studies on Rh-catalyzed C–H bond activation and functionalization
will promote the development of transition metal catalysis and lead to the discovery
of new concepts in this area.
We are grateful to all the chapter authors, who have contributed to create this
multiple-facet volume. We dedicate this volume to all chemists and students who
are contributing, via C–H bond activation and functionalization, to discover safe
catalytic transformations in the organic chemistry field.
