• Occupational risk: (1) The report detailing the development and use of
the EFSA tool (EFSA, 2014) should be reviewed to fully understand the
assumptions made by the model used. (2) Assumed input data such as
absorption levels for ASM may be more accurately refined through a review
of recent information.
• Dietary risk: (1) Just a small subset of selected foods was investigated. Total
dietary exposure should take into account all residues that could exist on
foods within the diet. From the calculated margin of safety, a 24-fold higher
dietary exposure would be required before the ADI is exceeded. (2) The
calculations assumed that the maximum amount of the MRL was present
on all samples (a worst-case scenario).
