Preface of the Series Editor
This monograph is about the electrochemistry of technetium; however, it also
contains an overview on the electrochemistry of the elements manganese, rhenium,
molybdenum and ruthenium, as they share many similarities with technetium. The
last review of technetium electrochemistry in a book is 14 years old and only 8
pages long (Encyclopedia of Electrochemistry, Vol. 7a, Wiley VCH, 2006).
Therefore, the authors and the editor felt that an updated and much more expanded
coverage is needed. The authors, Andrzej Czerwinski and Maciej Chotkowski from
Warsaw University, Poland, are very well-known specialists, who were able to
survey the electrochemistry of technetium and related elements because of their
own research studies. I am sure that electrochemists and nuclear chemists will
highly welcome this monograph.
