The noise and wind installation of the PROMETEE platform (Program and
Test Facilities for Energy and Environment Transport, see Fig. 3.33) represents
an evolution of the existing aeroacoustic wind tunnel on the CEAT site (Centre of
Aerodynamic and Thermal Studies).
This wind tunnel, used to study air jets in an anechoic environment, has two
independent anechoic circuits powered by two compressors with the possibility of
regulating the temperature and the stagnation pressure. Each compressor delivers a
mass flow of 1 kg/s, with a total pressure of 3.5 bar and a temperature of up to 230 °C
at the machine output. The air is then conditioned by air-to-air heat exchangers and
motorised valves.
