Need industry to have environmentalists to work within each
department in industry that sincerely care about the environment
and community; looking toward the future for the next generation
Need to look at a Plan B beyond the current oil development
plan; with industry improving the environmental issues need to
go beyond green house gases (e.g. tailing ponds)
Converging pathways: renewables (continued growth)
and optimising existing energy systems around hydrocarbons for
greater efficiency and moving to higher valued added products in the
most environmentally and more connected ways with other provinces.
Transition towards lower hydrocarbon economy: look
at oils and gas energy and look at it federally to lead
the way forward
Technology: when marketing use of resources to the
world, we want to innovate and collaborate in sustainably
developing lowest carbon and cost oil sands in the world
(reducing environmental footprint, e.g. water, land etc.)
Answer count (Total results: 45)
Low-carbon pathways
What kind of future do you foresee/envision for the energy
sector in Alberta in terms of development and sustainability?
Figure 4.2 Preferred low-carbon future by surveyed stakeholders.
