Luis D. Virla is Research Fellow of the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU)
of the University of Sussex. His main research interests comprise the development of catalytic technologies for CO 2 capture and utilisation, as well as
studying energy transition pathways towards low- carbon technologies. Luis
holds a PhD from the University of Calgary and a MSc/BSc in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Zulia.
Oscar van Vliet received his Master’s degrees and a PhD in environmental
science from Utrecht University. His main research focus has been on the
question of why we are not all switching to renewable energy. He works on
this with a wide variety of methods including systems modelling, technoeconomic assessment, public surveys, and stakeholder consultations. Oscar
has also worked in private consultancy and at the International Institute for
Applied Systems Analysis. He is currently a lecturer with the Climate Policy
Group at ETH Zürich.
Brigitte Wolkinger, Mag., BEd is a member of the EconClim Research Group
at the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change (University of Graz).
Her main fields of research cover topics of environmental economics and
econometrics, i.e. reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and transport economics. She has gained extensive expertise in moderation of stakeholder processes and stakeholder analysis.
Hannah Wanjiru is a research associate at SEI Africa, with over eight years’
experience working on energy and environment issues in the region. Her
research work cuts across policy development, biomass value chain, gender
mainstreaming, technology adoption, greenhouse gases inventory, and standards. Prior to joining SEI, Hannah worked as an energy project officer at
Practical Action’s East Africa Regional Office, Nairobi, where she contributed to the design and delivery of projects on renewable energy assessment, biomass technologies, energy markets, cookstoves, policy advocacy,
and mini- grids.
Yudiandra Yuwono graduated as an environmental engineer from Bandung
Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2014. Since then he has worked for private
sectors and NGOs, gaining experience in different industries including mine
water management, oil waste, soil recovery, and sustainable technology distribution. He has worked in various places with international agencies such
as EC, UNDP, and IRENA.
