The SEM image of the super-absorbent intermediate layer of the PWAT material
is shown in Fig. 4.3. In the intermediate layer of PWAT material, the hydrophilic and
the hydrophobic fibres are randomly intermingled in the fibrous batting.
Figure 4.4 shows the SEM image of the bottom layer of PWAT material. It was
observed from the figure that the bottom layer is also a plain-woven fabric like the top
