The introduction of two luminophores onto binaphthyl is effective for inducing
the CPL of the achiral luminophore. The luminophores substituted on each
naphthalene take a chiral orientation reflecting the axial chirality of binaphthyl.
Kawai and coworkers reported the CPL of perylene bisimide (PBI) linked by a
binaphthyl unit (Fig. 9.6) [28]. PBI is one of the most known organic luminophores
