Clive W. Ayre (MA, BD, PhD) is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, and a retired Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in Australia. He has served in
a variety of congregations, mainly in Queensland, and has been significantly involved in the
ecumenical movement. His tertiary education was at the University of Queensland. His published
work includes Earth, Faith and Mission: The Theology and Practice of Earthcare, based on his
PhD thesis, which was An Approach to Ecological Mission in and through the Christian Community in Australia. His principal interests relate to practical eco-theology and mission, ecumenism,
and reconciliation. Clive was born and educated in Brisbane, Australia and has been married to
Gail since 1968; they have three adult children and ten grandchildren.
Karenne Hills (BNurs, BCouns, MCouns, Grad Cert Couple Couns, Ph.D.) maintains a ‘portfolio
lifestyle’ with a number of professional interests in the fields of disability, tertiary education, counselling and nursing. She is a lecturer and course coordinator at Australian College for Professional
Counsellors (AIPC) and an adjunct lecturer at Christian Heritage College (CHC), in Brisbane,
