Appendix B
Introduction of the “Spectral Studio” Analytical
Package
This book is associated with an analytical package, “Spectral Studio”, developed in
collaboration with the Hongzhiwei Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. This package is
focused on extracting the un-expected genomic information of bonding, electronic,
and molecular dynamics and energetics of liquids and solids from the energy shift
of electrons emitted from various energy bands and frequency shift of phonons of
different modes by physical perturbation and chemical reaction.
The spectroscopies include electronic AES, STS, UPS, XPS, XAS, APECS and
phononic Raman and RTIR. Physical perturbation includes atomic and molecular undercoordination (adatoms, point defects, terrace edges, surfaces, and nanostructures of various shapes), mechanical and thermal excitation, electric and magnetic fields; chemical reaction includes hetero-coordination (interfaces, alloys,
compounds, etc.), chemisorption, aqueous solvation.
Gained information includes the energy level of an isolated atom, effective atomic
CN, local bond length and energy, binding energy density, skin thickness of nanocrystals, elastic modulus, Debye temperature, single bond force constant, charge transfer
in reaction, orbital screening coefficient.
The package use visualized interface for input, output, display and data processing.
It is easy to operate (Fig. B.1).
