Abstract For a proper design of any irrigation system, an appropriate irrigation
water application method is needed in order to select the best method among many.
To come off with a better implementation and decision making, A lot of factors such
as initial cost of installations, topography of the location, space, crop to be planted and
many other factors are needed before any implementation and decision is made on the
selection process. Thus, for the ranking and evaluation of different irrigation water
application methods in this paper, Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity
to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) a widely used qualified multi-criteria decision making
technique is used for the selection and will effectively identify the most appropriate
