27.16 illustrate an example of the peatland zonation, all swamps in Narathiwat have
been practically divided into 3 zones under the supervision of the Pikun Thong
Royal Development Study Centre, namely development zone, conservation zone,
and preservation zone.
The preservation zone occupies areas of about 20,1005 ha. This zone is to be left
untouched since 7776 ha of natural peat swamp forest still remain therein. At
