Neoprene is one of the oldest and most versatileo ft he synthetic rubbers.
Chemically,i ti sp olychloroprene. Its basic unit is ac hlorinated butadiene
whose formula is:

The raw material is acetylene,which makes this product more expensive
than some of the other elastomeric materials.
As with other liningm aterials, neoprene is available in av ariety of
formulations. Depending on the compounding procedure, material can be
produced to impart specificproperties to meet application needs.
