increasing parts per million or billion of harmful substances in water or air samples
and the decreasing number of species on earth or lack of fresh drinking water in a
population. Naturally occurring and manufactured products alike move through
time and space according to the physical laws that govern all matter and energy. As
they flow and interact with each other and with the environment, individual substances produce both positive and negative byproducts that can and must be responsibly monitored and assessed.
