Delayed Building Schedule Control Using
Milestones
D. Przywara and A. Rak
Abstract A feasibility study is a measure of the quality and reliability of construction schedules. In the course of construction projects, there are a number of external
factors that generate time delays and cost variances. Their detailed monitoring and
identification allows managers to implement improvement measures. The purpose of
the research is to build a decision model that controls the distribution of the resulting
time and cost variances identified on the given day of the work registration report.
The works assortment processes burdened with the variances in the preceding activities, foreseen to be performed after the selected inspection day were subjected to the
improvement measures. Delayed schedule control using milestones allows for the
division of time slips by setting priority working deadlines. These deadlines initially
eliminate time reserves, making all activities critical.

1 Introduction
In the production system, there is a flow of materials gradually changing their form
and properties, as well as information and decision-making processes, which are the
basis for controlling material flow. There are products at the output of such a system
with specific technical, functional and aesthetic features, that meet the specific needs
of the target audience of customers [1].
The decisive factor for accurate budget planning in a separate budgeting entity
is the way in which orders related to this entity are linked to cost planning during
budgeting periods [2]. It allows to precisely identify each type of costs and relate it
to the right place and time of its creation.
Modern decision-making process is the problem of choosing the best decisions
from the group of available options. All decisions regarding individual elements of
