8.3.2 Asansol Municipal Corporation (AMC)
Asansol city is an urban-industrial area which is situated in the eastern part of India.
Now, it has become one of the key hubs for settlement area, business and commercial activities. The Delhi-Kolkata National Highway (NH-2) has been passing
through this town and is well connected by bus and rail routes with major locations
of the country. The massive change of the BU area has been demarcated in the central, eastern and western part of the AMC. Mainly, BU in the context of the industrial complex has been noticed in the western and southern part of the city during the
study period from 2006 to 2018 (Fig. 8.1).
