2 M-SERVE and P-SERVE for Intragranular
Microstructures at the Subgrain Scale
The scanning electron microscopy image of a section of intragranular γ − γ
microstructure of the Ni-based superalloy René 88DT is shown in Fig. 2a. The
following sections discuss the process of experimental image extraction, microstructural characterization, and statistical analysis, followed by micromechanical analysis for establishing the M-SERVE and P-SERVE. Details of these developments are
given in [30, 47].
