Alexandra Isabela Lopes Correia is an Associate Professor of Tourism Studies at the School of
Technology and Management (ESTG) of Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) and
integrated member of the Centre for Tourism Research, Development, and Innovation (CiTUR).
She also collaborates as a researcher in the Applied Management Research Unit (UNIAG).
Her main interests include wine tourism, inter-business cooperation, tourism experiences, soft
skills in tourism, outdoor tourism, and digital marketing, with a special emphasis on experiential
marketing, and on social media marketing in tourism. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Digital
Marketing. She is currently involved in several research projects, both at the national and international level, namely Project INCOME: Innovative Cooperation Business – HEI learning model for
Tourism, co-funded by Erasmus + (KA2); and Project TURNOUT aiming at understanding the
development of Outdoor Tourism in the North region (Portugal), co-financed by FEDER.
Hugo Aluai Sampaio is an archaeologist specialized in the Bronze Age and has been researching
and teaching in the fields of Archaeology and Tourism since 2010 and 2015, respectively. His
main research interests are focus settlement, funerary practices, metallurgy and rock art (Archaeology), and sustainability and accessible tourism (Tourism). Lately, he is involved in national and
international funded research projects and developing approaches to promote the interlink between
cultural heritage and natural resources.
Hugo is a researcher at Laboratório de Paisagens, Património e Território (Lab2PT), Minho
University.
Manuel José Serra da Fonseca is currently Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of
Viana do Castelo (Portugal). He is a researcher at UNIAG (Applied Management Research Unit,
since 2014). He participated in 3 I&D national projects and supervised about 40 undergraduate
and master works in the areas of Communication Sciences and Business Sciences. He acts in
the Social Sciences field with an emphasis in Communication and Marketing Sciences. His areas
of interest are: attitude towards advertising, attitude towards communication skills, road safety
communication campaigns, consumer behaviour, integrated marketing communications, social
marketing, public service advertising, viral marketing and organisational communication. He is
currently involved in the TURNOUT Project aiming at understanding the development of Outdoor
Tourism in the North region (Portugal), co-financed by FEDER.
Susana Marinho graduated in Management of Touristic Activities and she holds a postgraduate diploma in Digital Marketing. Much of her research interests focus on the use of digital
technology in communication and the promoting of interpersonal and commercial relations. Her
attention is focused on the use of social media in the touristic sector.
Ricardo Carvalhido graduated in the field of Sciences (Biology and Geology). Much of his
research is focused on Sedimentology and Stratigraphy, especially on paleoenvironmental Quaternary evolution issues. He is currently the Coordinator of the Littoral Geopark of Viana do Castelo.
