of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia
(“Demography in Transition” 2009–2011 and “Geography of Serbia”, 2011–2019), and currently
leads a project of inter-academic cooperation between the Macedonian and Serbian Academies of
Sciences and Arts with the ‘Evaluation of preconditions for tourist activities in underpopulated
rural areas’ (2018–2020). Also, she participated in the development projects ‘Fortresses along
the Danube in Serbia’ (Ministry of Culture of Republic of Serbia, 2010–2011) and IPA HU-SRB
‘Thematic routes of Dunav-Kris-Mures—Tisa Euroregion’ (Provincial Secretariat for Regional
Development, AP Vojvodina, 2010–2012). So far, she has published one book, edited three books,
and authored a great number of academic articles and proceedings.
Dr. Dunja Demirovi´ c Bajrami works as a Research Associate at the Geographical Institute
“Jovan Cviji´ c” at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Belgrade, Serbia and at the South
Ural State University, Department of Tourism and Socio-Cultural Service, Chelyabinsk, Russian
Federation. Her research interests cover sustainable tourism, tourism development, rural tourism,
and tourism motivation. During her studies, she received several scholarships and she was a
member of several regional and national research projects. In 2019, she was a postdoctoral
researcher at Ryerson University, Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management,
Toronto, Canada. Dr. Dunja Demirovi´ c Bajrami had a few study visits: in 2016 at the Institute for
Landscape Development, Recreation and Conservation Planning, University of Natural Sciences
in Vienna (Austria), in 2015 at the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development,
Charles University, Prague (Czech Republic) and in 2014 at the Institute of Geography and Spatial
Management, Jagelonian University in Krakow (Poland).
