Marko D. Petrovi´ c Ph.D. is a Research Associate at Social Geography Department of the
Geographical Institute ‘’Jovan Cviji´ c” of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in
Belgrade (Serbia). He contributes as a visiting professor to the South Ural State University, Institute of Sports, Tourism and Service in Chelyabinsk (Russia) and as a visiting scholar to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Planning in Madison (WI, USA). Dr. Petrovi´ c received
his doctorate in geosciences from the University of Novi Sad, Department of Geography, Tourism
and Hotel Management (Serbia). He has authored more than 120 publications in scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. His research is centred upon rural development, tourism’s
impact assessment, community-based economy planning and spatial aspects of tourism. He is the
editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Geographical Institute Jovan Cviji´ c SASA, and current guest
editor of the highly ranked Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research.
Tatiana N. Tretiakova is a Professor of Tourism and Education at the South Ural State University
(SUSU), Russian Federation. After graduating from the Institute of Culture in 1978, she worked
in cultural institutions, studying the historical and cultural heritage of the Ural region of Russia.
The area of her scientific interests is higher education in the sphere of tourism and services. In
2001, she defended her doctoral dissertation on “Theory and practice of marketing in the structure
of continuing education”. Since 2006, she has been the head of the Department of Tourism and
Socio-cultural Services at SUSU. She is a leading Professor in the field of tourism education and
sustainable development of regional tourism, as well as in the fields of international hotel chains,
innovations in tourism and hotel services, historical and cultural heritage of the Ural region, and
sustainable tourism development in the South Ural region of Russia. She has more than 300 publications in the tourism field, its sustainable development and the recreational impact of various
types of tourism on humans.
David W. Marcouiller is a Professor of Regional Development Economics at the University
of Wisconsin–Madison, USA. A resource economist by training, his work focuses on the linkages between natural resources and community economic development with interests in income
distribution, multi-functional rural landscapes, amenity driven migration, and the compatibility
of alternative land uses. He has published over 200 manuscripts in a variety of outlets that span
tourism and forest economics, outdoor recreation planning, regional science, landscape and urban
planning, and rural development.
