Interpretation
1.8 Conclusion
This chapter intends to describe the effect of a pandemic on the world and analyse
the impact of COVID-19 on the smart cities of India. In doing so, the big data has
been analysed at the international, national, state, and district level through spatialstatistical analysis.
The continuous increase in the share of urban population has forced the world to
rethink and reshape the concept of future cities. The cities are still not able to overcome the challenges and issues related to infrastructure and environmental sustainability. The pandemic has created a problematic situation by highlighting the drawbacks of high population density areas. The COVID-19 has adversely affected the
economy of all countries. In India, the states and UTs having more number of smart
