West Bengal (5.9%), Telangana (5.2%), and Kerala (5.2%). Interestingly, all the
aforesaid states have recorded a high number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and
death as compared to other states.
In India, the total number of people tested till 15 July 2020 is 14.45 million, which
is equivalent to just 1.19% of the total population of India, with a test positivity
rate of around 6.72% (0.97 million). Out of the total recorded cases, 0.33 million
are active cases, whereas, the average recovery rate of the nation is 63.26% (0.61
million). However, 2.57% (24,929) people died due to COVID-19. As per the author’s
estimate based on the current trend, after testing the total population of the nation,
the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases may rise to 81.33 million or even
