② Assessment results
I. Assessment results of high flow period
Sampling was conducted on July 26, 2015 in the high flow period, i.e. 15 days after
completion of well construction when the water quality of monitoring wells stabilizes basically.
The monitoring results demonstrated those of the 49 monitoring indexes, 24
indexes were not detected in the five monitoring wells, including chroma, smell and
taste, turbidity, volatile phenol, anionic synthetic detergent, cyanide, cadmium,
cobalt, thallium, lead, hexavalent chromium, HCH, DDT, silver, barium, iron,
nickel, manganese, copper, chromium, beryllium, mercury, selenium, antimony and
sulphide, and were deemed not to have caused any pollution. The assessment
results of other detected indexes are shown in Table 5.128, taking the measurements of indexes of #4 as the background values.
According to the assessment results of Table 5.128, the pollution exponents of
the four indexes of #1 monitoring well were smaller than 1 including arsenic,
fluoride, suspended solids and dissolved oxygen, and that of other indexes are
greater than 1, indicating that #1 monitoring well has been polluted, with the
greatest pollution indexes i.e. that of chloride, total phosphorus, sodium, and barium being 15.37, 39.29, 15.68, and 17 respectively; the pollution exponents of the
nine indexes of #2 monitoring well were smaller than 1 including molybdenum,
arsenic, fluoride, total coliforms, chemical oxygen demand, suspended matter,
potassium, dissolved oxygen and barium, and that of other indexes are greater than
1, with the greatest pollution index i.e. that of chloride being 11.5; the pollution
exponents of the seven indexes of #6 monitoring well were smaller than 1 including
arsenic, fluoride, total coliforms, suspended matters, sodium, dissolved oxygen,
barium and that of other indexes are greater than 1, with the greatest pollution
indexes i.e. that of zinc, chloride, and total phosphorus being 10.5, 39.32, and 55.36
respectively; and the pollution exponents of the seven indexes of #7 monitoring
well were smaller than 1 including molybdenum, arsenic, fluoride, total phosphorus, sodium, dissolved oxygen, barium and that of other indexes are greater than 1,
with the greatest pollution indexes i.e. that of zinc and total coliforms being 11.0
and 16.67 respectively.
Among the 49 monitoring indexes, 24 indexes were not detected including
chroma, smell and taste, turbidity, volatile phenol, anionic synthetic detergent,
cyanide, cadmium, cobalt, thallium, lead, hexavalent chromium, HCH, DDT, silver,
barium, iron, nickel, manganese, copper, chromium, beryllium, mercury, selenium,
antimony and sulfide; the individual factor exponents of the 3 indexes including
dissolved oxygen, arsenic and fluoride were smaller than 1; and the individual
factor exponents of other 22 indexes were greater than 1, indicating pollution of
varying degrees.
