3. Assessment of environmental conditions of groundwater in the informal
landfill
Water quality testing was conducted on the 2 groundwater samples taken from the
1st aquifer exposed in the landfill site. The basic info of the samples are shown in
Table 5.92, which included 22 indicators. The statistics of groundwater sample test
and evaluation results are shown in Table 5.93. The statistics of the multiples by
which the indicators exceed the standard limit are shown in Table 5.94.
As can be seen from Table 5.94, a total of the 11 indicators of the 1st layer of
groundwater including chromaticity, permanganate, nitrate (as N), nitrite (in as N),
total hardness (as CaCO 3 ), ammonia-nitrogen, total dissolved solids, fluoride,
sulfate, chloride and manganese indicators exceeded the Class III limits provided in
the national standard “Quality standard for ground water” by the multiples shown
in Table 5.94.
