b. Chemical characteristics of waste soil
A total of 3 domestic waste soil samples were collected for organic matter content
test and analysis. The test results are shown in Table 5.87.
The organic matter content of the 3 waste soil samples is between 3.68 and
8.66% with an average of 6.73%.
⑤ Composition characteristics of landfill gas
The on-site landfill gas composition and content of the landfill were tested at 11
exploration holes using portable biogas detector. The test results are shown in
Table 5.88.
Test results show that among the 11 exploration holes, 1 hole (9
# exploration
hole) has a methane (CH 4 ) gas content in the range between 5 and 15%, with a
maximum measurement result of 14.4%, while all the other 10 exploration holes
have a methane (CH 4 ) gas content range of 0.0–4.8%.
⑥ Distribution conditions and water quality characteristics of leachate
Leachate was exposed by all 11 exploration holes in the landfill area and 1 leachate
monitoring well (LW1#) was set up. During the investigation period, the static
water level of leachate measured in LW1# is 0.88 m, the water level elevation is
16.87 m and the pressure head is 2.61 m.
A total of 1 leachate sample (numbered LW1) was taken from the leachate
monitoring well (LW1#) for test of a total of 14 indicators. The results of water
quality testing and evaluation of landfill leachate are shown in Table 5.89.
