DE
Fig. 28.13 Image of DE sensor and power generation system using water flow vibration (gallop
movement): Inside the pipe, a DE sheet generator and sensors are installed (Chiba and Waki 2011)
is possible to obtain sufficient energy to operate the DE sensor, and it is possible to
analyze water quality, flow, etc. even in places where power supply is difficult.
By using this system well, in the near future, energy can be recovered from the
movement of the heart and blood, etc., and it can be used to drive artificial organs,
internal sensors, micro analyzers and micro manufacturing equipment etc. (Chiba
2004).
28.5 Conclusion
In this paper, we described how to use DEs in order to build an eco-sustainable
society by making good use of renewable energy and grids that distribute them well.
A novel DE transducer could be applied to the two systems: (a) local generation
of DC electric power and its networking and coupling with DE generation in the
ocean, and (b) promotion of various types of green technology, such as DE motors
for vehicles or trains, global environmental measurement, and monitoring of water
quality and sewerage using DE sensors, etc.
We hope that those systems may help to counteract the issues associated with
the various environmental challenges facing us today, such as global warming, overpopulation, or excess power consumption, to promote a better standard of living
throughout the world.
