Bouharoun : biologie et exploitation de Coelorinchus caelorhincus (Risso, 1810)
Résumé
Le but de cette étude est de valoriser une espèce issue des rejets de pêche dans la baie de Bou
Ismail. On s’intéresse donc à Coelorinchus caelorhincus qui appartient à la famille des
Macrouridés, également appelés grenadiers, et ayant fait l'objet de peu de travaux en Algérie et
en Méditerranée. Cette espèce est comestible dans l’Ouest du pays, contrairement à la région
Centre. L’objectif de l’étude est de sensibiliser les pêcheurs du port de Bouharoun du potentiel
nutritif et commercial du grenadier. Pour se faire, nous apportons des compléments
d’informations, tout en renforçant la position du grenadier parmi les poissons des eaux profondes
de la région. L’étude se structure en trois parties. La première étant l’analyse des habitudes
alimentaires, puis l’analyse de la dynamique de croissance, et en dernier la détermination de
l’état d’exploitation. Notre approche nous permet de mieux comprendre l’état de ce stock, pour
envisager les possibilités de son exploitation et de sa commercialisation.

Valorization of a fish species from fishing discards at the port of Bouharoun: biology and
exploitation of Coelorinchus caelorhincus (Risso, 1810).
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to valorize a species from fishing discards in the Bay of Bou Ismail.
We are focusing on Coelorinchus caelorhincus, belonging to the Macrouridae family, also
known as grenadiers, which have been understudied in Algeria and the Mediterranean. This
species is edible in the western part of the country, unlike the central region. The study aims to
raise awareness among fishermen at the port of Bouharoun about the nutritional and commercial
potential of the grenadier. To achieve this, we provide additional information while reinforcing
the position of the grenadier among deep-sea fish in the region. The study is structured into three
parts: the analysis of dietary habits, growth dynamics analysis, and the determination of the
exploitation status. Our approach allows us to better understand the status of this stock to
consider the possibilities for its exploitation and commercialization.
