in a number of ways including the utilization of existing outflow-free depressions
and peat bogs [10].
According to a UN report on development issues in 2007 called GEO-4, water
usage in developing countries will increase as much as 50% by 2025, while the
increase for developed countries will be close to 18%. Another UN report from 2015
states that global water demand will increase by 55% by 2050, while the global water
supply will continue to decline. Hence, the need for effective water management is of
crucial importance, especially in the era of climate change, which may manifest itself
in the form of a growing water deficit in Poland as well as changes in water quality.
This will also apply to areas protected by law where water is the main component. In
