Résumé
La côte algérienne abrite différents écosystèmes marins qui ont une grande importance
écologique, mais également économique. Ces écosystèmes présentent un intérêt pour
l’ensemble de la Méditerranée et sont considérés comme clés pour le fonctionnement
écologique du bassin méditerranéen. Parmi ces écosystèmes clés, les herbiers de Posidonia
oceanica, jouent un rôle essentiel dans le maintien de la biodiversité marine et offre de
nombreux services écologiques, toutefois les données sur sa répartition sur le littoral en Algérie
sont insuffisantes et très fragmentaires. Une recherche bibliographique a été effectuée et a mené
à trois résultats essentiels, un maximum de sites de localisation des herbiers en Algérie repérés,
une carte de distribution de posidonie sur le littoral et un inventaire de la faune et de la flore
associées à cet écosystème clé. Nous avons également au cours de ce mémoire de fin d’étude
été initié à la taxonomie benthique au laboratoire. Les résultats du présent travail ont été intégrés
à la base de données nationale BANBIOM après les vérifications requises.

Abstract
The Algerian coast hosts various marine ecosystems that hold significant ecological and
economic importance. These ecosystems are of interest to the entire Mediterranean region and
are considered crucial for the ecological functioning of the Mediterranean basin. Among these
key ecosystems, the Posidonia oceanica meadows play an essential role in maintaining marine
biodiversity and offer numerous ecological services. However, data on their distribution along
the Algerian coast are insufficient and highly fragmented. A bibliographic search was
conducted, leading to three essential results: the identification of the maximum number of
Posidonia meadow sites in Algeria, a distribution map of Posidonia along the coastline, and an
inventory of the fauna and flora associated with this key ecosystem. Additionally, during this
final study project, we were introduced to benthic taxonomy in the laboratory. The results of
this work have been integrated into the national database BANBIOM after the required
verifications.
