This also means that firstly, states must create regulations on local businesses,
whether it is for environmental taxation or recycling strategies, while keeping the
public informed throughout possible changes. This in turn will increase the chances
of creating a healthy environment where there is a reduced usage of food, energy,
and/or water resources, thus keeping a balance in nature. Secondly, once public
and private regulations are placed, states should be required to cooperate with other
nearby states to achieve a level of awareness that the world needs today; the capacity
of its individuals, communities, enterprises, and states to maintain a healthy world
where all societies are able to respect one another and live in a sustainable way.

10.7.1 Production and Resourcing
Under a sustainable approach both resourcing and production work together for
the creation of a beneficial balance on the environment. With this view in mind,
resourcing must be efficient to use less of the available resources to achieve a
product. In other words, the inputs (resources) must create the same (or even better)
outputs (products). So, the keyword is “less” because industries must lessen the
amount of input they once thought was necessary in order to truly be sustainable. It
is also fundamental to consider the product’s life cycle, which goes from the moment
the product was designed to its finalization, including an added value if the product
can be reused. This is where economic sustainability also plays an important role
because both businesses and consumers should act together in order to maintain an
efficient sustainable development.

ways.
