period. After a successful surgery, they went back home to care for the child and
the other children. She continued feeling unwell, showed signs of hypertension,
and confided to members of her family that Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA)
hospital staff had neglected the complications she had developed. A few hours after
arriving home, she collapsed, and foam began coming out of her mouth. Upon being
taken back to ELWA hospital, she was in the care of a doctor who specialized in
treating Ebola survivors, while the one on duty refused to treat her. She remained in
care for about 3 h while experiencing seizures and convulsions.
Consequently, Harris decided to personally go to the emergency room and get
a wheelchair that enabled him to take his wife in for emergency attention. Harris
narrated that the staff still refused and told him to take her to another hospital. The
other doctor who came in 3 h later was unable to save her as she succumbed to
the illness of childbirth at 28 years. Despite her painful death, she is a martyr who
remains in the hearts of many Ebola survivors, including her sister Josephine.
