The significant assimilating potential of mangroves does not mean that the system should be used as bin of conservative wastes. Implementation of water pollution prevention strategies and restoration of ecological systems are integral
components of all development plans. To preserve our water and environment, we
need to make systematic changes in the way we grow our food, manufacture our
goods and dispose off the wastes (Lazaroff 2000). In India, agriculture is the biggest user and polluter of water. If pollution by agriculture is reduced, it would
