On the contrary, sample 3 does not form this mixed columnar liquid crystalline
structures. As shown in Fig. 4, many reflections are seen in the one-dimensional
(1D) XRD profiles below the isotropization temperature (T i ). From the
two-dimensional (2D) XRD pattern, the structure can be assigned as an ordered
rectangular columnar (Col ro ) structure, with the unit cell dimensions: a = 5.03 nm,
b = 4.30 nm, and c = 0.35 nm. These unit cell dimensions are much larger than
individual Tp or Pc columns but nearly the same size as the dimension of the entire
